Office of Marine and Coastal Resource Conservation, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources have translated into Thai and published a “Guide to Marine Debris and International Coastal Cleanup”.
This booklet will introduce the readers to marine debris which seems to be a small issue, but in reality it can cause a lot of damage to the environment and harmful to marine lives. Besides, the booklet contains history of International Coastal Cleanup activitiy initiated by the Ocean Conservancy for over 20 years. The activity has been receiving huge attention from volunteers around the world. Also, it contains the Top 10 Marine Debris collected from beaches of the USA and around the world along with statistic of marine lives injured by marine debris.
Most important, there are Marine Debris Categories, Quick Tips, and What to bring for the cleanup activities together with Data Collection procedure. All are to use as guideline or standard reference in order that the Thailand coastal clean up activity conducted by the Thai volunteer is effectively synchronized with the international coastal cleanup activity conducted elsewhere around the world.
